This site does one thing: it lets you send me a note about your books. Here is exactly what happens to what you send, written the way I'd explain it if you asked me on the phone.

What the contact form collects

• Your name, email address, and business name if you give one.
• Whatever you type in the message box.
• The time you submitted the form.
• Your IP address and browser user-agent, and how long the page had been open before you hit send. Those exist to tell a person from a bot, and nothing else.

Where it goes

Submissions are written to private storage on Amazon Web Services in the United States and I get an email letting me know one arrived. It goes to me. It doesn't go to a marketing platform, a lead broker, or anybody else.

What I don't do

• I don't sell, rent, or trade your information.
• I don't add you to a mailing list because you filled out this form.
• I don't run advertising pixels, embedded widgets, or third-party fonts. The only request this page makes to another company is Google Analytics.

Analytics

I use Google Analytics to see how many people find the site and how fast it loads for them. That data isn't linked to anything you type in the form, and I don't use it to build a profile of you. If you block analytics, everything here still works.

How long it's kept

If we end up working together, your note becomes part of our normal client records. If we don't, I delete it once I know the answer is no. Either way you can ask me to delete it sooner and I will.

Your financial records

Nothing about your actual books touches this website. Bookkeeping work happens in QuickBooks and in whatever document sharing we agree on, under the engagement terms you sign. Please don't put account numbers or anything sensitive in the contact form.

Getting your data, or getting rid of it

Email info@gatewayledgers.com and ask. I'll tell you what I have or delete it, and you don't have to explain why. Deletion is permanent.

Changes to this page

If what I collect changes, this page changes the same day and the date at the top moves with it.
